An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN) was held on 1 July 2025 to vote on the proposal to establish the roles of President-Elect and Past President. This change was intended to support leadership continuity and help sudden transitions in administration.
Member Societies were invited to attend the EGM and in response:
Although the majority of attendees voted in favour of the proposal, this was below the 75% required for approval at an EGM.
Therefore, the proposal is not approved and will not be implemented. At this time, the roles of President-Elect and Past President will not be established.
The voting process was conducted under legal supervision to ensure compliance with all formal requirements.
We thank all member societies for their participation and engagement in this historic first EGM of the WFN.
