The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) warmly congratulates Dr Chandrashekhar Meshram on his appointment by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, as President of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS ⧉), Bibinagar, Hyderabad—an Institute of National Importance.

Dr Meshram—a WFN Trustee, Chair of the Tropical and Geographical Neurology Specialty Group for 2 terms, Associate of eNeurologicalSci, as well as other roles within WFN, and Padma Shri awardee ⧉, one of the highest civilian honours of India—has been a tireless advocate for brain health.  He has played a key role in advancing WFN's advocacy initiatives in India,  particularly through the World Brain Day campaigns among many other initiatives.  

In his new role, he will serve as a key liaison between the Hon. Health Minister and AIIMS Bibinagar, with the opportunity to strengthen the institute and further national and global advocacy in neurology. Among his objectives is to encourage progress on the Intersectoral Global Action Plan (IGAP) on epilepsy and other neurological disorders in India.
