Roongroj Bhidayasiri
Roongroj Bhidayasiri is Professor of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University and Director of Chulalongkorn Centre of Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease & Related Disorders in Bangkok, Thailand. Professor Bhidayasiri graduated in medicine from Chulalongkorn University in 1993.
He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and Ireland.
He leads a Parkinson’s disease registry in Thailand in collaboration with the Thai Red Cross Society, the Ministry of Public Health, Bangkok Metropolitan, and the National Health Security Office of Thailand.
His research focuses on data science and assisted devices in Parkinson’s disease. He co-develops devices for tremor and nocturnal monitoring and his adjustable laser-guided walking stick has been adopted in Thailand for patients with freezing of gait.
Professor Bhidayasiri is section editor of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders, editorial board member of the Journal of Neurological Sciences and a member of the writing committee of the American Academy of Neurology on the management of tardive syndromes.
He is a member of the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Thailand and Chair of the Asian-Oceanian section of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.
