
The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) is pleased to announce the results of its recent elections and warmly congratulates the newly elected officers and Trustee:

First Vice PresidentProf. Riadh Gouider (Tunisia)
Prof. Riadh Gouider has held numerous leadership roles within the World Federation of Neurology (WFN), including Regional Director for Africa and the Pan-Arab Region, and as both Co-opted and Elected Trustee. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the WFN Education Committee, the WCN 2025 Teaching Course Committee, and as a member of the WFN–AAN Global Advocacy Leadership Program (GALP) Steering Committee. Prof. Gouider has also been a driving force behind the WFN’s regional e-Learning initiatives. He will assume office on 1 January 2026.
Elected TrusteeDr Chandrashekar Meshram (India)
Dr Meshram is a long standing advocate of WFN having served as Co-opted Trustee, Elected Trustee, and Chair of the Specialty Group on Tropical and Geographical Neurology (TGNSG). He is also a member of the WFN Constitution and Bye-Laws Committee and the Scientific Program Committee, and played an active role in advancing brain health initiatives, notably World Brain Day. Dr Meshram will assume office with immediate effect.

The WFN also congratulates Copenhagen, Denmark, on its selection as the host city for the World Congress of Neurology (WCN) 2028. The successful bid was led by Dr Faisal Mohammad Amin on behalf of the Danish Neurological Society.

The World Federation of Neurology extends its sincere appreciation to all candidates for their dedication, service, and commitment to the advancement of global neurology. The Federation looks forward to continued progress under the guidance of its newly elected officers and Trustee.
