The interview with Professor Wolfgang Grisold was taken upon the occasion of the World Congress for Neurorehabilitation (WCNR) organized by the World Federation of Neurorehabilitation (WFNR) held between 14–17 December 2022 in Vienna (Austria).

Since January 2022, Professor Grisold has been serving as the President of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN), making him the first Austrian to hold this prestigious position. Additionally, he was the inaugural president of the Austrian Society of Neurology. His extensive expertise lies in various fields, including general neurology, neuro-oncology, neuromuscular disease, palliative care, and education.
 

As the President of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN), Professor Grisold discussed several crucial points during the interview, shedding light on the importance of collaboration, prevention, and the role of young neurologists in shaping the future of neurological care.

During his interview, Professor Grisold emphasized the advantages of multidisciplinary and multi-professional approaches and recognized the significance of collaborations among experts to create comprehensive strategies for neurological care. Professor Grisold highlighted the pivotal role that young neurologists play in the growth and development of any organization, highlighting the platform that WFNR offers to young professionals.

Drawing inspiration from the American Academy of Neurology, Professor Grisold acknowledged the value of leadership programs for professionals in the field of neurology. Such programs help foster strong leadership qualities, enabling professionals to address organizational gaps and lead initiatives in neurorehabilitation effectively. As the President of the WFN, Professor Grisold shared his perspective on primary organizational gaps in neurorehabilitation at the international level, highlighting the discrepancies between countries and advocating for efforts to create a more unified approach to neurorehabilitation worldwide.
