World Environment Day ⧉ is led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and held annually on 5 June since 1974.  It is the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world.

Human health especially brain health is closely linked to environment. Air pollution is one of the most important causes of mortality especially neurological and cardiovascular diseases. Impact of environment, Climate change and air pollution on nervous system and neurological diseases is increasingly recognized. Neurological disorders are among the most disabling conditions resulting in huge physical, social, and economic burden on society.  The burden of chronic neurological diseases is increasing globally, and the search for prevention and cure is still lagging.

Understanding the cause of a particular disorder is a key to its prevention and management. Etiology of several disorders has baffled clinicians and scientists for centuries. There is increasing interest in finding environmental causes of neurological disorders. The impact of air pollution on global mortality and morbidity has gained recent recognition as a major public health issue with highest impact in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and the most populous countries with fast growing.

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5 to increase awareness related to environment. As environment is closely related to brain health, WFN organized world brain day 2018 with theme “clean air for brain health”. This webinar will increase awareness and provide interactive medium for neurologist to learn interaction of environment and climate to brain health and future interventions to improve brain health.
