About Rare Disease Day – 28 February
The 28th february is the Rare Disease Day, a day dedicated to the Rare and Orphan Diseases. WFN Rare Neurologic Diseases Specialist Group would like to remember to the World Neurologists that the majority of Rare Diseases have a neurologic involvement and have a neurologist as one of the main clinician involved in their diagnosis and care.
However, even if some progress in the knowledge of the pathogenesis and for some of them in the therapy has been done, these disorders remain orphan of the awareness of the general doctors informed about the different diagnostic possibilities, their available therapies and their prevention.
WFN as well many other international stakeholders are involved to promote their awareness.
