The Nominating Committee of the WFN invites nominations for the positions of Secretary General for a four year term, and one elected trustee for a three year term.

  • Secretary General to take office from January 1st, 2023 (position vacated by Professor Wolfgang Grisold).
  • One Elected Trustee to take office immediately following the council of delegates meeting (position vacated by Dr Steven Lewis upon the end of his second term of office).


A nominee should be a member of an active WFN member society (only societies with fully paid annual dues are eligible), should have a national and international exposure, made a positive impact and contributed to global Neurology. Consideration shall be given to gender equality and diversity.

Please submit the name(s) of candidate(s), together with a signed statement of confirmation of their willingness to stand for election, brief Curriculum Vitae (a single A4 page) and evidence of support from the candidate’s national society.

Please address the nomination documents to the Chair of the Nominating Committee, all of which should reach the London Secretariat office, as soon as possible, and no later than 3rd May 2022.

Nominations made after this deadline shall follow a separate route and must be supported by a minimum of 5 (five) national WFN active member societies, be accompanied by the same statement, Curriculum Vitae and support and be received by the London office thirty days prior to the date of the COD. Nominations received after date above are not eligible for consideration.
