Professor Dr Hamidon Bin Basri

Professor Dr Hamidon Basri is currently the President of the Asian and Oceanian Association of Neurology (AOAN) since 2020. He has been active with the World Federation of Neurology (WFN) as the representative of the Asia and Oceanian region. These include activities like World Brain Day, E-learning day program, IGAP, WCN, etc. He has been appointed as the director of Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia since 2022. 

His brainchild is the Regional Emergency Stroke Quick-response (RESQ) network and HSAAS is the pioneer principal high-volume stroke RESQ training centre in Malaysia.

He has been the lead author of the Malaysian Stroke Clinical Practice Guidelines published in 2006, 2012 and 2020. He has been invited to deliver more than 500 lectures both locally and abroad. He has authored 5 books, 3 patents and has published more than 150 publications in local and international journals (H-index=45, Citation=7328).
