• Emeritus Professor in The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and Director (1991-2000),  and Emeritus Professor of the University of Liverpool.
• Honoured in the 2020 New Years Honours list with the Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for "services to controlling neglected Tropical diseases".
• Professor of Biology, Chairman of the Department of Biological Sciences and Dean of Science at the University of Salford where he was a member of Faculty from 1977-91.
• Professor Molyneux graduated (MA, PhD) from Cambridge University in parasitology before embarking on a career in medical parasitology and entomology.

Charles Miller Fisher, MD (1913-2012) established the relationship of carotid disease to ischemic stroke, characterised the clinical and pathological feature of lacunar syndromes, and proved that atrial fibrillation can cause stroke in the absence of cardiac valvular disease.

Lou Caplan is one of Miller Fisher's most distinguished pupils and colleagues.
