Prof. C Miller Fisher

Charles Miller Fisher, MD (1913-2012) established the relationship of carotid disease to ischemic stroke, characterised the clinical and pathological feature of lacunar syndromes, and proved that atrial fibrillation can cause stroke in the absence of cardiac valvular disease.

Lou Caplan is one of Miller Fisher’s most distinguished pupils and colleagues.
