World Brain Day webinar

More than 3.4 billion people globally live with neurological conditions, yet millions lack access to necessary care.

To address this challenge, the World Federation of Neurology (WFN)—in collaboration with six regional neurological associations (AAN, AFAN, AOAN, EAN, PAFNS, and PAUNS)—will host the official World Brain Day 2026 Webinar.

A Unified Global Focus

This one-hour webinar brings together representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO) and regional leaders from Africa, Asia and Oceania, Europe, North America, Central and South America, and the Pan-Arab region.

Panelists will discuss how access issues impact brain health and discuss potential practical strategies for improvement. Many neurological conditions can be prevented or managed more effectively through earlier diagnosis, lifestyle adjustments, and equitable access to treatment.

Key Speakers Include:

  • Prof. Steven Lewis - President, World Federation of Neurology
  • Prof. Tissa Wijeratne - Chair, World Brain Day 2026
  • Prof. David W. Dodick - Co-Chair, World Brain Day 2026
  • Dr. Katrin Seeher - World Health Organization
  • Joined by distinguished neurological leaders representing every region of the world.

Webinar Agenda and Strategy

The event will feature a roundtable discussion exploring why brain health matters and how to implement the core pillars of the World Brain Day campaign:

  • Brain Health Is for Everyone: Promoting equity in care.
  • Earlier Access Changes Lives: Prioritizing early intervention.
  • Prevention Starts in Everyday Life: Reducing common risk factors.
  • Bring Brain Care Closer to Home: Developing community-based support.
  • Awareness Must Lead to Action: Creating measurable global impact.

Five Strategic Areas for Global Action

Panelists will outline how regional and global efforts are targeting five specific areas:

  • Visibility: Making brain health a recognized global priority.
  • Capability: Building healthcare capacity at the local level.
  • Protection: Safeguarding brain health across all life stages.
  • Equity: Closing the care and disability gap.
  • Advocacy: Turning awareness into tangible policy change.
