To WFN member societies in Europe

The World Federation of Neurology is pleased to invite bids to host the World Congress of Neurology (WCN) in 2029 from national member society Presidents and Delegates in Europe at a suitable venue.

The World Congress of Neurology (WCN) is the premier educational event of the World Federation of Neurology. The WCN rotates every other year between four different regions of our six regional societies, all with different health systems, different backgrounds, different neurological challenges, and different needs. The WCN has up to 7000 participants. The structure consists of plenary topics, scientific topics, and teaching courses. The WFN develops the program with the hosting society and the regional society to capture as many local needs as possible.

If your WFN Member Society would like to be a candidate to host WCN 2029, please complete the application form by 30 November 2024. All applications will be treated in confidence and will be reviewed by WFN. Those societies who have expressed interest before the upcoming Council of Delegates Annual General Meeting (25th September 2024) will be announced during the meeting.

Those that are short-listed will be notified by the middle of January 2025. A site visit by WFN officers and a representative of the WFN's Professional Congress Organiser to evaluate the proposed venue and related facilities will take place in the ensuing months. A report and recommendation will then be circulated to the Delegates for voting approximately one/two months before the Council of Delegates meeting during the WCN 2025 in Seoul, where the result will be announced.

For any questions or for further information, please do not hesitate in contacting the WFN directly at info@wfneurology.org.

The WFN looks forward to hearing from any member neurological society in the European region that wish to be considered as the host of WCN 2029.
