Dear Friends, Dear Colleagues,

The World Federation of Neurology's XXVI World Congress of Neurology (WCN 2023) will be in Montreal, Canada, from the 13th -19th October 2023. The congress will be proudly co-hosted by the Canadian Neurological Society (CNS), with over 2000 neurologist members. We hope that this event will bring us back to our regular congress routine and that we will be able to see each other in person, rekindle friendships and collaborations, and establish new ones.

This WCN will bring us up to date in the broad field of neurology, from tropical neurology to molecular genetics. The Scientific Program and Teaching Programs are at the core of the World Congress of Neurology. These are complemented by plenary lectures from leading experts in their fields, the exciting and entertaining Tournament of the Minds, cutting edge scientific sessions relevant to all the corners of the globe, and poster sessions that will feature the research of young neurologists of the future.

In addition to learning and science, the WCN offers an excellent opportunity for communication and exchange. After over two years of pandemic restrictions, we will be able to see and learn from each other!

The WCN rotates between six different regions of the world, all with different health systems, different backgrounds, different neurological challenges, and different needs. This congress will be a valuable forum for exchange of clinical experience, of personal trajectories, of science and to mentor and nurture the next generation.

The WFN will provide congress bursaries for young neurologists to attend WCN in person from low/low-middle income countries.

Montreal is a wonderful destination.  A safe and relatively inexpensive city with much to offer.  Montreal also has a rich history of neurology, with giants such as Dr Wilder Penfield, Dr Brenda Milner, and many others.  The Montreal Neurological Institute will be open to those interested in the history of neurology. Montreal is a multicultural city that has at its core French culture, with all the different aspects of French culture, particularly a keen interest in food.

For the WFN and its Member Societies, this biennial meeting is an opportunity to highlight the global reality of our neurological world. We hope you will be able to join us for what will be an exceptional meeting!

WCN2021

The XXV Biennial World Congress of Neurology (WCN 2021) took place on 3-7 October 2021 and for the first time ever it was held as a fully virtual event. Organised with the support of The Italian Society of Neurology (SIN) ⧉, WCN 2021 gathered over 4400 participants from 120 countries, 1300 of whom coming from Italy.

Rome's icon – The Colosseum, became the venue for the virtual WCN 2021. The fully personalized interactive congress platform allowed the attendees to experience the arena of the ancient amphitheater like never before and provided them with access to plenty of scientific sessions, networking opportunities and industry materials.

This year's congress was held under the theme "Inspired by the past to build the future of Neurology" and brought together more than 270 first-class speakers and experts, who discussed the latest advancements in the field. The scientific program consisted of more than 150 scientific sessions presented in different formats – plenary lectures, scientific sessions, teaching courses, free communication sessions and regional symposia, addressing a wide range of neurology-related topics.

A record number of 24 teams signed up for this year's Tournament of the Minds, which once again provided an educational and entertaining experience, integrating various aspects of neurology.
