World Brain Day 2019 - On July 22, join the World Federation of Neurology and International Headache Society as we share the painful truth about #migraine.
Migraine affects one in seven people and, together with other headache disorders, and is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. Despite its pervasive impact, migraine continues to be vastly under-recognized, underdiagnosed and under-treated.
We hope that you and your society will be sharing the efforts for the WBD. The chair of this activity is Professor Tissa Wijeratne.
KEY MESSAGES
- Prevalence: Migraine is the most common brain disease in the world, affecting 1 in 7 people worldwide.
- Disability: Migraine is a major, disabling disease that can severely impact every aspect of your life.
- Education: Migraine is under-recognized, under-diagnosed and under-treated.
- Standard of Care: Together, we can ensure those affected by migraine receive the care they need.
- Research: Migraine receives less research funding than any of the world’s most burdensome diseases.
